Heron Rock held their annual Charity Open Sheep Dog Trial on 25th August 2019 in Little Hayfield.

Each run consisted of 5 sheep, 2 Swaledale and 3 mules, and was run over a national sized course. The sheep were not easy and certainly tested a dog and handlers ability to manage them.

The 2018 trial winner Jim Scriven judged 68 dogs and was accompanied by his wife Christine, the results of the trial were as follows:

1st Katy Cropper with Faenor Bute on 89 points

2nd Katy Cropper with Butch on 88 points

3rd Dylan Davies with Sali on 85 points

4th Adam Ledgar with Tip on 84 points, OLFD

5th Dylan Davies with Sam on 84 points

6th James Howard with Lad on 83 points

Best Young Handler was awarded to William Mellor

A charity raffle was held during the trial with brilliant prizes being donated. Altogether an extremely impressive £1,000 was raised for Cancer Research UK.

Rebecca Spooner and James Mellor would like to thank all those who attended and supported the trial, and also everyone who kindly donated raffle prizes.
