Hot Weather Incoming

As temperatures rise, we are reminding all members, handlers, and trial organisers to take extra care and consideration for livestock during periods of hot weather, particularly where it arrives suddenly. The wellbeing of sheep and dogs must remain the foremost priority in all planning and decision‑making.

We appreciate the care and professionalism shown by our members and organisers, and we thank everyone for continuing to uphold the highest standards of welfare across all activities that may be connected with the ISDS.

There is some helpful guidance which can be viewed in the Rules for Trial section of the website, this is presented as guidance not a definitive policy and discression should be used in all decision making. 

If in doubt, please err on the side of caution and take proactive steps to safeguard livestock and dogs during warm weather.

Of course remember to stay hydrated and protected from the sun to look after yourselves as well!
