Welcoming Eilidh MacPherson as Editor of International Sheepdog News

The International Sheep Dog Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Eilidh MacPherson as the new Editor of International Sheepdog News (ISN). Eilidh joins us from farmingscotland.com, where she has spent over two decades shaping agricultural journalism with her editorial vision, photography, and commitment to rural storytelling.

Eilidh brings a wealth of experience to ISN, with 22 years of magazine publishing, starting her career writing for the New Zealand Farmer, 40 years of photography, and a proven track record in producing engaging features and multimedia content. Her work has not only graced the online pages of farmingscotland.com but has also been featured in the Farmers Guardian, West Highland Free Press, and Press and Journal. Eilidh’s passion for livestock and landscape photography has earned her recognition, including winning the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists photography competition in 2025.

Throughout the selection process, Eilidh impressed the ISDS Trustees and Council with her editorial skills, innovative ideas, and deep understanding of the sheepdog community. She is known for her ability to connect with rural voices and her enthusiasm for expanding the magazine’s reach—both in print and digital formats. Eilidh has already expressed her commitment to balanced content, ensuring representation from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England, while also exploring international stories that reflect the global nature of our membership.

Eilidh’s vision for ISN includes:

• Fresh branding and design updates to keep the magazine vibrant and relevant.
• Enhanced digital content and the creation of an ISN library for members.
• Greater engagement with contributors, including rural writers and columnists.
• A focus on diverse, high-quality features that celebrate the achievements and stories of the sheepdog world.
