English Directors – World Trial (W.T.) Qualification
Rules For Trials, New Rule 4.8
Qualification Timing
· The English team for the World Trial (W.T.) shall be selected at a qualification trial (or trials) held within 12 months prior to the W.T. entry closing date.
Eligibility
· Handler and Dog combination that have placed in the top 6 on any day of the three English National Trials held prior to the W.T. entry closure shall be eligible to enter the qualification trial.
Entry Requirements
· The dog that achieved the qualifying placement at the National level must be entered for the W.T. qualification trial.
· The handler may choose to run an alternate dog; however, the originally qualified dog must still be entered.
· The dog that gained the national-level qualification must remain registered under the same handler’s name and must be entered into the W.T., regardless of which dog is run at the qualification trial.
Qualification Limits
· A handler-and-dog combination may qualify only once.
· No additional qualification places will be granted in cases where a combination qualifies multiple times.
· Each handler may run a maximum of 2 dogs in the W.T. qualification trial and may choose which two if more than two dogs have qualified.
Handler Eligibility
· To enter the W.T. qualification trial, the handler must be eligible to compete in the English National in the final year of qualification.
Trial Format and Judging
· The W.T. qualification trial shall be judged by 2 judges and, where possible, will include a double gather element.
· All additional details concerning the structure and running of the qualification trial shall be determined by the English Trials Committee in office at the time.
