Farpaisean Chon-Chaorach, the BBC ALBA series that delves into the highly competitive world of national, international and world sheepdog trials across the UK and Ireland, is back for a seventh series. Produced by mneTV, the ever-popular 8-part series begins transmitting on BBC ALBA from January 6th at 9pm.
Presented by Donald MacSween and Catriona MacPhee the team travel the length and breadth of the country capturing the very best of the action from the trialling scene.
The Scottish National trials, hosted by John Richardson at Bedrule House and Farm took place over three days from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th of August. As anticipated the event produced some outstanding runs and results, and of course generated international interest in the creation of the team that go on to represent Scotland in the season’s major event, the International Championships.
This year the Internationals were held at Kilbegnet, Creggs, Co. Roscommon.
As well as the action from the trials, in each episode of the series there are also extended features where our team delve into local interests in the area, uncover some interesting dog and sheep stories and enjoy finding out more about some up and coming talented shepherds. We also spend some time getting to know the shepherds from all the National teams that will compete at the International Championship.
