Membership Services and Benefits

The main Object of the Society is to promote and foster, in such countries as may seem desirable or necessary, the breeding, training and improvement of the shepherds' dog.

All Members of the Society must agree with this Object and must comply with the Constitution.  Members are expected to uphold the highest standards of behaviour and conduct in all aspects of their dealings with their dogs, with animals and with other people.

A Member of the Society has the following rights:

  • To receive International Sheepdog News if an Annual or subscribing Life Member.
  • To receive copies of Society publications issued free to members.
  • To receive free admission to the Society's National and International Trials (Member badges sent out in June). Excluding World Trials.
  • To register dogs in the Society's Stud Book, according to the rules.
  • To make enquiry of the registration status of other dogs in the Society Stud Book.
  • If a member from England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales: To compete personally, or enter a dog, at one of the Society's National Trials, subject to the rules, and
  • To attend, move motions at, or otherwise take part in that member's respective National Meeting, held at the time of the National Trial in each of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
