Scottish Association of Young Farmers

The Scottish YFC are doing a fabulous job paving the way for us through holding their SAYFC Young Farmer Sheepdog Trials!

This new competition series was open to all SAYFC Members aged 14 years to 30 years, where they participated at any of the chosen Nursery trials to achieve aggregate points, which then allowed them to run at the Final at Scotsheep 2024.

Congratulations to Lynn Ronaldson and Bob who won with their score of 80 points, who had Daniel Worthington hot on her heals with his dog, Bob.

The Intermediate Handlers section also proved to be a hotly contested, but it was Ben McSporran from Peeblesshire JAC who eventually took first place with his bitch Cass. Laura Moore of Brechin was closely contesting first place with her dog Finn but just ran out of time in the final in hand-work.

Thank you to Jenny Murtagh, Jim Ogston, other supporting members of the SAYFC for showcasing our sport so brilliantly for the next generation in Scotland, we look forward to seeing what the future holds!
