Visit of HRH The Prince Of Wales to the ISDS Welsh National Sheepdog Trials, Glanusk Park
The ISDS was delighted to welcome HRH The Prince of Wales to the Welsh National Sheepdog Trials at Glanusk Park, Crickhowell, Wales on 01 August 2003.
A keen supporter of country skills and traditions he was guided by Mr Meirion Owen, the ISDS Welsh National President, and is seen here on the right with Mr Norman Lorton the ISDS Chief Executive. |

Whistle Practise: His Royal Highness chose to take his place in the grandstand, much to the delight of the crowds sat there. Sitting alongside The Honourable Mrs S. Legge-Bourke, the Prince then took a lesson in the shepherd's whistle.
Obviously, this could not be blown while the sheepdog trials were underway, but we understand that there was much enthusiastic practise when the group later left the field! |

His Royal Highness took time to talk with the trials officials. Here he speaking to the Judges, Mr Gronwy Edwards and Mr Calvin Jones, and the Course Director Mr Mel Page. All three gentlemen are well known figures in Welsh sheepdog trialling.
The ISDS is indebted to Mrs Legge-Bourke who kindly gave permission for these Welsh National Sheepdog Trials to take place on the Glanusk Estate.
