The ISDS issues the official certificate on the left when a Border Collie is registered. The pink A5 certificate has been used for many years to register dogs. The current version is shown here and includes our Wiston Cap logo at the top. All genuine certificates are embossed with a collie head near the signature.

Cream certificates are used when the parents have not passed defined eye tests, and a few years ago green and blue certificates were used for the same reason.

Working dogs always have short names. Many owners and established farm kennels apply for the exclusive use of a prefix (or suffix) which explains how double names are permitted.
