The ISDS Stud Book and Pedigree Charts
It is very important the Society protects the value of Stud Book information and so the information published in the Stud Books is regarded by the Society as copyright. This means that the contents may not be copied or used in any form without the permission of the Society.

Anyone who compiles pedigree charts for more than a private purpose must seek the permission of the Society and acknowledge the source of the information on that chart.

The wording in Stud Books since 2000 says, "Purchasers of the Stud Book may generate their own pedigree records and charts and pass these on with any dog that they sell. However, the generation of pedigree charts for sale or publication is controlled by the Society's rights of information ownership".

Anyone involved in producing pedigrees for sale can be issued a simple annual licence and will be able to endorse all charts with this statement. We are happy to assist this 'cottage industry' :-
