Saturday's runners The top fifteen qualifiers run in the Supreme Championship in catalogue order: 3 Jed Watson MIRK W 18 Ian Brownlie MO S 19 Kevin Evans SPOT W 24 Tom Lawrenson SPOT E 25 Michael Hopkins LASS I 26 Stuart Davidson JIM S 34 Jock Welsh TANHILL NAP S 37 Michael Gallagher CAP I 38 Angus Jardine CUILLIN S 41 James McGee BECCA I 46 Jock Welsh TANHILL SWEEP S 50 Michael Shearer BOB S 51 Graham Powell GWEN W 54 Ewen Mackinnon NAN S 59 Nigel Watkins FLOSS W The number of competitors for each country is: Ireland 3 Scotland 7 Wales 4 England 1 Latest News Saturday 4.50 Nigel Watkins and Floss had problems on the second outrun - stuck at their task on difficult sheep but ran out of time at the pen. The Driving will take around half an hour, and then the result will be announced. In reverse order, of course! Saturday 4.20 Ewen Mackinnon and Nan - the first outrun was good, but the second didn't go well, time up in the ring. Just the last competitor to go! Saturday 3.50 Graham Powell and Gwen - two good outruns with commands well taken. A good shed and pen to finish. Will run No 13 be lucky for Wales? Saturday 3.20 Michael Shearer and Bob - excellent first outrun and good turn back, but missed second fetch. Good round the rest of the course and to finish. Saturday 2.50 Jock Welsh and Tanhill Sweep - an excellent outrun and turn back, good all round the course, but out of time in the shedding ring. Unless somebody manages to combine all the elements well, it's going to be hard to predict the winner: will it be a good but uncompleted run or a completed run with faults? The winning Young Handler is Fraser Shennan from Scotland - congratulations! Saturday 2.30 James McGee and Becca had a fine run beginning with good outruns, but not completed. Saturday 2.10 Angus Jardine and Cuillin had excellent outruns, but ran out of time at the shed. Saturday 1.00 The Young Handlers are competing during the lunchtime break from the singles. It has started to rain, not welcome news for competitors or spectators. Saturday 12.10 Michael Gallagher and Cap had a tremendous run to win the Qualifier. Their run in the Supreme began with excellent outwork, but the sheep were as for many others a real problem in the ring and had to be shed again, but there was still time to complete. Saturday 11.30 Jock Welsh and Tanhill Nap started well with two good outruns, however things went awry in the ring, and Jock retired. However, he still has a second chance with Tanhill Sweep later today. Saturday 11.00 Stuart Davidson's Jim needed a few commands on the look back, but got the second packet of sheep. However, they missed the second fetch. A difficult shed was handled excellently, and the pen was good. The second run to be completed today. Saturday 10.50 Michael Hopkins and Lass had the first completed run. Both outruns were good, but problems at the gates on the drive. Saturday 10.20 England's only hope, Tom Lawrenson and Spot, started well, but had problems on the second outrun, hit all gates, but was timed out with the last two still to shed. Saturday 9.35 Ian Brownlie and Mo had a good first outrun, but crossed on the second outrun. Time ran out as the pen gate closed. Kevin Evans and Spot started well but had problems on the look back and missed the fetch, so retired. Saturday 8.40 Jed Watson and Mirk had an excellent outrun, fetch and lift, a few whistles on the look back, but no real problems until the drive, where about half the sheep missed the drive gate. The sheep proved very difficult in the shedding ring where time ran out. Saturday 8.00 The first outrun is to the right. After an earlier shower, it is currently dry, but the forecast isn't good for the whole of the day. Saturday 7.00 The stage is set for today's double fetch Supreme Championship. News throughout the day, but the scores will only be made known at the end of the competition.

Richard Hutchinson is the 2010 International Brace Champion - above at the first pen with Wenndale Roy and below at the second pen with Sweep Pic: Kim Gibson Friday 4.40 The Qualifier is over - here is the result! Scotland won the team prize and with almost half the entries in the Final must have a very good chance of the Supreme title. Friday 4.00 It's hotting up with just a few runs to go before the full list of tomorrow's qualifiers is known. Friday 3.00 Richard Hutchinson with WENNDALE ROY & SWEEP take the Brace title with 431, just ahead of yersterday's leaders, J R Griffith with Fan & Roy. Friday 1.00 Jock Welsh becomes the first to have two dogs with high scores - Tanhill Sweep on 390 joining Tanhill Nap on 347. The sheep have continued very much as yesterday, wit the greatest difficulty being in the ring - several good runs running out of time. Shedding has been difficult in the brace too, where there is just the last run to go before the singles resume. Friday 12.10 James McGee and Becca have posted 346 - likely to be enough to take them into tomorrow's Final. Friday 11.10 The first scores have been posted, and we have a new leader - Michael Gallagher on 394 with an exceptional run. Will anybody reach 400? Yesterday's leader, Jed Watson, said of his run with Mirk "I class it as a good workmanlike run. The dog did what the sheep allowed us to do. They didn't allow us to put finesse on the run. The dog worked them well around the course". Friday 9.20 The weather is similar to yesterday, grey with sun between the clouds, ideal for sheep, dogs and handlers, not so good for sunbathers. The first of today's runs are under way, and in a hour or so we'll have an idea of how today's scores are looking. Friday 6.30 Today sees the completion of the Qualifier and Doubles competition. As the day progresses, watch the leader board to see who is in the top fifteen for tomorrow's Supreme Championship.

Hamish Maclean and Kim Pic: Kim Gibson Thursday 6.30 Trialling is over for today, with Jed Watson still in the lead. The sheep have continued to be tricky, but have been a little easier to pen this afternoon. If tomorrow's scores are in line with today's, the figure to aim for to secure a place in Saturday's Supreme Championship is likely to be around 330, but the exact figure will become clear only as tomorrow's competition develops. Thursday 5.00 More scores in the middle 300s have joined the leader board. Thursday 4.00 A number of better scores have emerged - Kevin Evans on 341, Toddy Lambe on 335 and Ian Brownlie very close to Jed Watson's score on 379.
J R Griffith's Fan & Roy lead in the Brace at the end of day 1 Pic: Kim Gibson Thursday 2.00 The afternoon session has begun after the competion of the first half of the Brace competition. J R Griffith is leading the Brace on 424. Thursday 1.10 More scores have been posted - the sheep are tricky but workable. Several runs in the low 300s have been recorded, including Robbie Welsh who scored 308, but Jed Watson is still well ahead. Thursday 11.30 The singles judges are Tony Kearins (I), Sam Rae (S), Arthur Roberts (W), Charles Cutler (E), and for the doubles: Mike Glynn (I), John Casey (S), Stan Harden (W), Paul Turnbull (E). The first Brace runs will be during today's lunchtime break. Thursday 10.50 The first scores are up - Jed Watson is the early leader on 383. Richard Hutchinson is second on 321. Thursday 9.30 The day has started with good weather - a mix of sun through cloud, but with a strong wind blowing across the lake to the side of the course. The sheep are a mix of mules and other halfbreds, not easy to handle, inclined to stand to the dog at the top and when being turned round the post at the end of the fetch. They are also inclined to run when turned onto the cross drive. Gerard Graham was the first to run, a good run in general, but he was asked by the judges to repeat the single; Jed Watson has had the best of the early runs, handling tricky sheep very well and hitting all the targets. Joe McRobert had a reasonable run, but had problems on the cross drive and in the shedding ring, running out of time at the single. Richard Hutchinson showed that the sheep could be lifted well, following a good outrun, had problems on the drive and especially the cross drive, but finished well.
