No 17 - Jock Richardson and Wiston Cap

Wiston Cap, whose image is the symbol of the ISDS and who won the 1965 International when still not quite two years old. Wiston Cap's breeding went back to J M Wilson's Cap 3036 (see entry for December 3rd), who appears 16 times in Wiston Cap's pedigree. Such was Wiston Cap's fame, not only as an International winenr, but as, in Barbara Carpenter's words, a "genuine shepherding dog" Wiston Cap came to dominate the breeding of the working sheepdog, so much so that nowadays all the puppies registered in the stud book have him in their pedigrees.
