No7 - The sheep

No sheep - no trial. If there were no sheep, there would be no sheepdogs, so in many ways they are the stars of the show.

Here they are coming out, ready to do their bit for the World Trial:

And here they are, ready to get back to a bit of serious grazing after their work is done.

As we all know, sheep can make or break a trials run, and the best results can be achieved by a combination of good dogs and good sheep. A top class run on well presented sheep which have enough about them to need a good sheepdog to guide them in the right direction takes a lot of work by a lot of people. We are fortunate in having so many opportunites to witness one of the wonders of the world, something which has not changed in its essentials for thousands of years, and which is as important today as in Biblical times.
