Early Trials project tops 200

22 July: There are now over 200 pre 1915 trials listed on the Early Trials pages, including our first records from the Isle of Man (Milntown 1908) and Eastern England (Walthamshire 1908). There are also many new entries for 1892 including Eppynt Hill and Tregaron. Start here.

Beardie website goes live

4 July: Whether you are interested in working Bearded Collies or have an interest in sheepdog and shepherding history, you will find plenty to interest you on the Shepherds with Beardies website, which went live recently. There is a lot more to be added at a later date - this taster gives an idea of the depth and the high quality of the research which has gone into the site.

18 May: The 2011 World Trial was launched at a packed event at the Punch Bowl, Askham, Penrith, close to the Lowther Park venue on Thursday evening. The venue is Lowther Park, which also hosted the highly successful 2009 International. These, the fourth World Trials, promise to be every bit as enjoyable as the previous events in Wales and Ireland, and have already attracted major sponsorship from CSJ Specialist Canine Feeds. For details as they emerge, visit the World Trial website.

New website for International Trial

13 May: There is a new address for the International trial website. For now, this is merely replacing the previous URL, but it will soon link to and from all the other ISDS Major Trials sites.

The URL is: www.internationalsheepdogtrials.org.uk - bookmark it now!

Video clips from Brazil

21 May: Brazil is one of the growing number of Associate countries and has many hard working sheep and cattle dogs. The Brazilian AGBC website includes a number of links to Youtube footage of working dogs and trials (note that although these titles are in English, the commentary isn't!)

2011 World Sheep Dog Trial News

01 May : The ISDS 2011 World Sheep Dog Trials will be held at the Lowther Estates, Cumbria, Northern England over 15 - 18 September 2011.  The Lowther management are delighted that the event will be returning to where the ISDS held a very successful International Trial in September 2009.  Invitations have gone out to all nations and local handlers should be aware of their national club's plans.

For those planning a 'trip to remember' to the UK it is ideally located in a beautiful part of Britain.  The week before sees the ISDS International Trial take place in Tain, Ross-shire, (8 -10 September) in the far North of Scotland, and this would make it possible to see two great events in two excellent locations over the two weeks.

The new website is being assembled at www.worldsheepdogtrials.org
